for the learning of mathematics

The learning and development of mathematics teachers and mathematics teacher educators: from there to here to where?

This article draws together the threads of my collaborations with Laurinda Brown since our first meeting in 2005, at the Melbourne conference of the International Group for the Psychology of Mathematics Education. There we discovered our common interest and experience as university academics researching with mathematics teachers. The article describes our subsequent collaborations around this theme, and how we developed a new interest in exploring the learning and development of mathematics teacher educators. I reflect on this rich web of collaboration and how it has influenced the directions of my own research – especially in the context of mathematics teacher education.
